In our STEAM technology class, students explored how smart devices and Wi-Fi controllers work together through voice commands and simple engineering concepts. Students learned: How Wi-Fi-enabled controller boards send and receive signals Basic concepts of positive/negative power connections and motor control How smart home systems such as Alexa can control lights and moving objects Simple programming and voice-command automation How these technologies can be applied to creative projects, such as controlling a dolphin model motor During the class demonstration, students watched how voice commands like “Alexa, turn on the light” and “Alexa, Dolphin on” could activate connected devices and small motors.
